We’re in the perfect location…

we’re about a 10-20 minute drive from all of the best things in the area. From entertainment, to shopping, to chain or local restaurants and shops we’ve got a lot to offer! Below are some of our favorite stops in the area if you’re looking to plan a weekend getaway or if you’re looking for suggestions for your out of town wedding guests!

 

Oxford

 

Oxford is a 15-20 min drive from The Michael and holds lot’s to do whether you’re looking for a shopping experience, outdoors, entertainment…they’ve got it! Here’s our top picks:

  • Choccolocco Park holds activity options from kayaking, to a large walking track, playgrounds, disc golf and more!

  • Big Time Entertainment is the perfect place for family entertainment: bowling, laser tag, arcade, putt putt, go carts, and more!

  • Oxford Exchange is perfect for all your shopping AND restaurant needs

  • Historic Mainstreet Oxford is a fun part of town and we’d highly suggest Hubbards Off Main, Southern Girl Coffee, or First Class Ice cream

 

Piedmont

Piedmont is also a 15-20 minute drive and just might be our favorite! It’s a small town but holds lots of unique shops and honestly some of our favorite places to go! Here’s a few suggestions:

  • Rustic On Main is a unique shop that holds boutique, furniture, candle and other vendors!

  • Shell’s Downtown Bar + Grill is a favorite restaurant with live music some of the best food.

  • Chief Ladiga Trail is accessible from Piedmont, Jacksonville, or Anniston and is the perfect flat / smooth bike riding or walking paved trail for an afternoon or all day adventure!

  • Dugger Mountain Fudge is a fun local shop that serves everything from homemade fudge to pimento cheese sandwiches!

  • Elevated Grounds is another local coffee shop we love!

 

Jacksonville

Jacksonville, a 15 minute drive from our venue is the home of Jacksonville State University. It’s a fun college town and one of the best spots is the city square with lots of unique local shops, boutiques, and more! Check out our suggestions below!

  • The Square in Jacksonville holds lots of little boutiques, restaurants, and shops we love!

  • The Redbird Coffeehouse if run by friends of our and they have some of the best coffee.

  • Heirloom Taco is a unique restaurant that started in a food truck but has grown into a local favorite!

  • Mad Hatters and Scoop De Jour are some of our favorite local stops dessert!

  • Coop-De-Ville and Cooter Browns are one of a kind local restaurants that you’ll love!
